Winter rainfall in 2020 was below average with some frost damage occurring in September. However, many varieties were only just emerging and widespread damage was avoided. Summer was relatively mild with good levels of soil moisture. Conditions were quite favourable during flowering, allowing bunches to set with good fruit development. Favourable conditions established exceptional quality across varieties and styles from 2021. Reds are intense and rich showing a balance of flavours and colours.

Food pairing notes
Australian Shiraz is renowned for its bold and robust characteristics, making it an excellent choice for grilled or roasted meaty dishes while the nose of Shiraz is filled with enticing notes of jammy fruit, dark chocolate, spice, smoke, and black pepper, creating a harmonious interplay of flavours that both complement and contrast the rich flavours of the meats. This combination elevates the overall dining experience to new heights. Here are some recommended dishes that pair well with our Shiraz:
- Cheese
- Big beefy stews
- Chocolate
- Grilled or roast beef
- Ribs, spicy sausages, and smoked brisket
- Roast or grilled lamb
